Chaos Space Marines vs Custodes, 12.06.2024

I wanted to try out some new models I finished - 2x5 Warp Talons and a second unit of Bikers. With less of a focus on shooting, I abandoned the Veterans of the Long War and decided on Pactbound Zealots. The Custodes tried out the Talons of the Emperor detachment.

The game: Purge the Foe. Good thing the Custodes army includes some Sisters of Silence.

Painting Sigvald, the Magnificient

My first thing to paint for Age of Sigmar in... well, ages. I had this mini primed and mounted to be painted for at least a year. Now, I rewatched this awesome tutorial by the Warhipster and got to work, following it loosely.

Speed painting Night Lords armor

By which I mean, speed paint the boring part which is the main armor plates and trim; and then do the interesting details with the proper attention.

Painting the legion icon of the Night Lords

Hedonites of Slaanesh vs Beasts of Chaos, 04.06.2024

I managed to arrange another game of Sigmar in preparation for the next phase of the escalation league; at least it was a short one. We upped the points to 1500 and played a game of Spring the Trap. My Hedonites faced a null deployment of Quakeherd.

Chaos Space Marines vs Adeptus Custodes, 29.05.2024

For the second outing with the new chaos marines, I faced the much maligned Custodes.

2000 points of Veterans of the Long War facing off against a Shield Host.

Hammer and Anvil, the Ritual (this time we actually played the proper scenario), Chilling rain.

Converting and painting Cyclops Demolition Vehicles

I bought some military toys a while back thinking to use them for Chaos shenanigans. Well, it turns out the Guard can use them as well.

Painting the Batnun (counts as Ursula Creed) and converting and painting more nun infantry

I think she's a perfect fit. Same amount of daddy issues (I haven't read anything about Ursula but given her name and heritage I made some assumptions here). Also speaking of heritage: I know the Cadian Shocktroops are a meritocracy but it's a huge coincidence that the daughter of the greatest general is now the greatest general. Anyway, I was inspired by Adam West's Batman costume - given the silliness of the character.

I then added just a few models here and there to complete and optimize my squads of Cadian nuns.

Converting and painting donkey cavalry/rough riders

3d printed nun donkey cavalry! I always liked how the models looked, but I did not want metal models with detachable spear arms. Now that they are 3d printable, I created my squad of Attilan Rough Riders.

May review and June goals

Alright so May was pretty bad due to the cold, but I did manage to get some stuff done.

As soon as I was out of bed, I went to a local ASOIAF tournament. I played a game of 40k. Kind of sums it up. RPGs have also taken a hit. So has painting and hobbying.

As for June, I want to get some gaming done, jump back into Age of Sigmar and generally catch up after missing out on stuff. I'm really into chaos marines now with the codex out, so I'm working on converting  and painting more units. There's always commission painting Lannisters. And there are some local events coming up, so here's hoping I'll make it to at least a couple.

Chaos Space Marines vs Dark Angels, 28.05.2024

First outing with the new chaos marine  codex, with some new models, against a brand new opponent playing Dark Angels. So it's chaos versus chaos. There, I made the joke.

Renegade Raiders vs Gladius Strike Force, Hammer and Anvil, the Ritual (completely forgot about it), Delayed reserves.
