Paint
Prime in white, applied by brush.
Basecoat the wood in brown.
Apply streaks of reddish brown for color variation.
Paint the fire. Unlike the relevant painting tip, I decided to start from yellow and go towards red, as a real fire would be hotter at its base and cooler at the tip.
Orange next:
Blood red:
Gore red:
Everything in successive layers, painting less and less of the torch each time, but also doing small streaks down to emulate a 3D flame.
Top it off with yellow glaze for added shine:
For the hands, I wanted to go for the cartoonish white gloved hands.
Basecoat in grey.
Highlight with a thin coat of white. It got a bit streaky...
So I applied a second coat.
Basing
Cover up the base in home made putty.
Then create the rocky base as per the relevant painting tip.
