The rebasening: Warriors of Chaos

Introduction

The last of the old Chaos mortals to be rebased.

The Rebasening: Chaos Chosen (and some maintenance work)

Introduction

I have these handsome gentlemen from days gone by. They should now be on 32mm bases, in Age of Sigmar as well as in 40k.

The rebasening: Chaos Space Marines

Introduction

Back when I painted these guys in 2016, 32mm bases were not a thing. I decided to put them on bigger and higher bases, so they can stand eye-to-eye with the newer sculpts.

The rebasening: Plague marines

Introduction

Like many other models, the Plague Marines have also grown taller and got transferred to 32mm bases. Here it goes for these metal miniatures (as well as the plastic ones I converted from the Chaos Marine kit).

M.A.G.U.S. - Enter Ediomad

A new adventure begins! I decided against retconning anything, and instead described how the adventurers traveled inside the undead whale - quite a miserable experience. After some time, the party stepped unto the shores of an underground cave - Biznard, the barbarian; Felgrin, the wizard; Shamil, the assassin; and Ylimor, the paladin.[1]

Painting Greater Possessed as Word Bearers

Introduction

I bought half of Shadowspear some time ago... time to prepare for the new Chaos release.

M.A.G.U.S. - A royal ball

Against all odds, the team reassembled (minus Athosian, but with a potential new member) to play a game of MAGUS and wrap up their latest adventure.

Painting a dark elf matriarch

Introduction

This gorgeous miniature has been sitting around in the closet for approximately a year after I initially painted the black obsidian throne. Now I decided to paint it along with the other dark elves.

Painting Reaper dark elves

Introduction

I wanted to paint all of this along with the Contrast dark elves, but on these 4, even after the Munitorum Varnish/Grey Seer combo, Contrast paints (as well as washes) behaved like water on a hydrophobic surface. So I needed to go in heavy handed, the old fashioned way.

Painting a jackal and a jackalwere

Introduction

A quick paintjob for this pair of jackals from Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures.

Dungeon of the Mad Mage: Tying up side quests

The session took off sluggishly, so I took the opportunity to complete some side quests while the other players chatted away.

Painting a Warhammer dark elf (Contrast basecoat)

Introduction

Another 2$ eBay find, now to be painted along with the rest of the dark elves.

Painting WizKids dark elves (Contrast basecoat)

Introduction

Two dark elf wizards from WizKids for D&D.

Dungeon of the Mad Mage: Dying on the toilet

Again face-to-face, and we played quite a lot, but still no pictures. Theater of mind!

Painting Ogryns & Bullgryns

Introduction

After plenty of conversion work, I had no mind to innovate on painting as well. I just wanted to quickly get these guys done using tried-and-tested techniques.

May review and June goals

Another successful month gone by. Let's not jinx it tho!

Gaming wise, I leaned into Warhammer 40k with the nuns. After the dataslate update, they got a pretty good buff. I dropped the assassins and proxied some tanks for some rather fun games. Inquisitor Clotilde has yet to make her points back, though.

D&D trudges on as ever, although the sessions are getting ever shorter. We'll never get through the Undermountain... or at least not this year.

The MAGUS sessions continue (honestly, to my surprise). I have shouldered the mantle of DM, and I'm currently guiding party members old and new through a dungeon.

Painting wise, I am done rebasing all my Chaos Marines, and I painted some new models as well. I expect this to continue, as I'm currently assembling a Lord Discordant! There's also a spike in commission works along with the renewed interest in MAGUS, expect my first dragon to be finished this month.
