Dungeon of the Mad Mage: Boss fight

Antrius allowed himself to be possessed by the ghost of Fidelio, paladin of Tyr. In exchange for killing the death tyrant Netherskull lurking in the middle of the level, Fidelio shared everything he knew about the level. As soon as Antrius rejoined his fellow adventurers[1], they recovered Brienne's magic hammer and headed straight towards the adamantium doors. With no way to breach them, the players then stalled, awaiting Ireth to enter the game. To give them something to do, I made them hear the moans of the 40 zombies hanging around the caverns. The zombies were quickly slaughtered.

Ireth entered the game, but the party refused to go in without a long rest. I agreed, given the death tyrant lair effect, but only Ireth was affected by a telekinetic beam and smacked around the room. Finally, the adventurers opened the doors to face the monster.

With the monster floating at 30 feet, various disabling effects and no way to regain health, I expected a long and engaging boss fight. Instead, Szivem did 70+ damage with a disintegrate spell, Brienne repeatedly misty step'd atop the monster to hit it, and the entire fight was done in 3 or 4 rounds.

With no treasure to loot, the adventurers descended to the next level to fight a crystal statue.
