Painting a Grey Seer (ratman sorcerer)

Introduction

A blast from the past - an out of production metal Grey Seer, hiding in a box ever since I bought it for $3 on eBay.

Painting

Prime Wraithbone.

Filthy cloth first to take advantage of drybrushing. Then Contrast basecoats. Two layers of Basilicanum Grey for the fur. Two layers of Wyldwood for the staff.

Volupus Pink tail, then highlight Squid Pink.

Rusty metal knife; after highlights, I spread Aethermatic Blue over the runes, just for fun.

Bone.

And a new way to paint wood, which I enjoyed: 2x Wyldwood, Khaki highlights, Seraphim Sepia.

Other than that, speed painting is all about cutting corners. So I looked to my contrast painting tips, but only did one highlight per color, if any:

  • 2x Basilicanum Grey, Grey Seer (fur)
  • Snakebite Leather, Filthy Brown (leathers)
  • Skeleton Horde, Wraithbone (nails, skull on belt)
  • 2x Nazdreg Yellow (rope belt)
  • 2x Skeleton Horde (rope around staff)
  • Heavy Orange, Blood Angels Red (healthy eye)
  • Heavy Orange, Nazdreg yellow, Filthy Brown (sick eye)
  • speed silver, then Nazdreg Yellow and Snakebite leather to create colored metalics

Basing

Woodland base.

Finished!
