Finally, something to experiment on! The Poor Fellows step out of the usual Lannister paint scheme, due to, erm, being poor.
Original state
Not as bad as the Clegane Brigands, clearly intended to be having brown clothes.
Painting
Enter slapchop! Kind of...? I drybrushed the minis Bonewhite, then White.
Apply Contrast paints on their clothes, hair and wooden hafts. I used my full range of browns, including: Garaghak Sewer, diluted Cygor Brown, Gore Grunta Fur, Snakebite Leather, Ratling Grime, Wyldwood.
I wasn't 100% happy with the outcome, so I applied a highlight of Khaki just on the edges.
Go for medium skintone. Had the miniatures been better painted, I could have gone over their skin with Contrast as well; but the browns frequently slopped over the skin, so I decided to just repaint everything.
Also metallic weapons and chains.
I took special care to highlight the stars carved into their skin, before tracing it with Carroburg Crimson.
I then re-highlighted just the tips of the star with the final highlight color.
Basing
Lannister base: orange rock/sand and greenery. This brings them in line with the rest of the army.
