Converting and painting Noble Pontifical Guard as a Krieg Command Squad

Rounding out my Papal Guard/Krieger collection, here's the command squad in the dress uniform colors of the Noble Guard.

Conversions

Same kit as the rest of the Papal Kriegers, I just used all officer hats and mostly officer bodies.

Melta and plasma gunner: same arms as for the kriegers. Krieger arms and 3d printed voxcaster. 3d printed medic bits. 3d printed plasma pistol and a Skitarii power sword grafted unto an original arm. Original standard bear arm and a shouldered rifle with a grafted on krieger lasgun.

Painting

They were painted along the regular Papal Guard, so lifting some common elements from there. Except the Bright red coats and Cold white pants.

Power sword

Going for something fancy here, basecoat Leadbelcher.

Wetblend Night Blue + Magic Blue with Leadbelcher.

Dilute the same blue mix heavily with Vallejo Glaze medium and draw from the hilt along the center line.

Do the same using Magic Blue, then Magic Blue + Electric Blue. If it gets a bit cloudy, no issue, because...

Draw a lightning pattern using Electric Blue + Ghost Grey. Highlight the base using white.

Dilute Silver using Glaze Medium and draw along the edges, confining the blue into the center of the blade. Finish off with a glaze of Guilliman Blue about halfway up, blending everything together.

Flag

I printed out the flag of the papal states. Cut it out.

Dryfit.

Lather just a bit of white glue around the edges and a bit in the middle.

Slide it in place, and use your finger to push the two halves together.

Wring it around a bit for that wavy look.

Additional elements

As an afterthought, I also painted a Lord (Lady) Commissar and a servo skull scribe. Same red/white/black uniform with a black commissarial jacket underneath the coat. Plasma pistol as above.
