Painting a Fire Elemental

Cast in orange translucent plastic.

Painting

I have painted one of these already for a commission; but I only did a gloss varnish over. This time, I decided to get paints involved. Prime spray varnish, then coat overall Bad Moon Yellow. This is the one way I could think of to get yellow in the recesses as opposed to on the ends of the flames.

Even out and reestablish the orange with a heavy drybrush of Hot Orange.

Light drybrush Scarlet Red. Focus towards the ends of the flames.

Light drybrush Black, only across the very tips of the flames.

Basing

Lava base.
