Painting Ashardalon, adult red dragon

I got this Ashardalon miniature from the Wrath of Ashardalon D&D board game. I decided to paint it as a red dragon; as I already painted a gargantuan red dragon, I was heavily inspired from its paint scheme.

Painting

Instead of spraying red (I no longer have a red spray), I decided on spraying Grey Seer and basecoating the red Flesh Tearers Red.

Then carry on with Carroburg Crimson, then drybrush Bloody Red, Hot Orange, Orange Fire. The drybrushes really show up on the other surfaces.

Paint the belly Nazdreg Yellow.

Complete the painting, exactly as for the big dragon, including yellow highlights. I wanted to experiment with the purple wings, but a layer of Contrast did not cover up the red drybrush.

Basing

Glue Ashardalon on a larger base. He deserves a bigger scene! Glue on pieces of torn up cork using UHU glue.

Then fill out the spaces with texture paint. This one's from GSW.

Paint the terrain as Rugged wasteland, then decorate with dry tufts after varnish.

Finished!
