Fixing, converting and magnetizing a Chaos Rhino and Land Raider
With the latest changes to 9th edition Warhammer 40k, most vehicle upgrades became free. Given how well the tanks performed during their latest games, I was inspired to make them WYSIWYG. They were bought second hand and are pretty damaged.

Word Bearers vs Imperial Knights, 18.04.2023
Alright, let's try and write a not-extremely-salty battle report, as the Word Bearers meet the Knights once more in battle. This time, we were up against house Tarranis, in a scenario of Abandoned Sanctuaries.

Converting and painting Nurgling beast handlers and riders
This is a conversion I started years ago. Never finished it due to having lost interest in Nurglings after the first 6 painted bases. I have no idea what sort of creatures the Tyranid-looking things are. I bought them second hand at a discount.

Word Bearers vs Tzeentch Daemons, 12.04.2023
This was the first time I was facing the Daemons codex - shame I'll probably never get to try it out before the new edition. Here's 1500 points of Abandoned Sanctuaries.

Word Bearers vs Astra Militarum, 05.04.2023
1000 points demo game, spreading the good Word! Notice my two nun-Russes on loan, rounding out the Cadian starter set. We did a simple scenario with 3 objectives giving 1 VP each in the command phase.

M.A.G.U.S. - Meow!
The adventurers delved ever deeper into the tunnels, always following the largest opening, always going downwards. Their paltry torches seemed to be overwhelmed by the encroaching darkness, causing Cahir to nervously look back at every step. Ylimor enhanced his senses, noticing a pair of yellow eyes watching from a side tunnel. The adventurers gathered ranks and proceeded downwards, with only Cahir milling around, looking for dead spirits.
All was well, right up until the pair of yellow eyes appeared right in front. Ylimor illuminated a humanoid cat in full plate. Dalibor shot at it with his crossbow. Roll for initiative!

Re-painting pre-painted D&D miniatures
I had these since forever. I also used them a couple of times. Unfortunately, my original plan of just washing and highlighting them (a la Moria goblins) failed, as the surface behaves as if hydrophobic and no wash/Contrast stays put. Of course I could have tried regular paints... but that's too much effort, considering the quality of these miniatures. So... re-prime and re-paint! I started them last year November, took a 3 months pause... so my memory is kind of hazy on the exact paints used. Wherever not specified, refer to the Highlighting on a Contrast basecoat.

March review and April goals
Woohoo! Back in business, baby!
Warhammer is back, with the clown-show feeling of the updates before the new edition. I got some games in, and I have something bigger planned for May. RPG sessions carry on usual, with MAGUS taking some hits. Nevertheless, I found the number of gaming sessions this month more than satisfactory. I have no loftier goals for April, than to carry on.
Hobbying is back as well.
You'll notice that after several weeks of just stories, which exhausted all of my backlog, we are back to our regularly scheduled one story, one hobby post per week. Our MAGUS adventures are all published, and we are at parity with the actual game progression, for probably the first time since they began. In fact I was almost out of stuff to publish, but luckily I managed to finish the paint jobs I began last year. The dark trio is already out, and more will follow these weeks.
I finished the painting competition entry, and I snagged first place! Super happy with that, the blog post is just out.
As for April's goals: first and foremost, I want to paint and convert my current Word Bearers army list into fully WYSIWYG. This means a couple of tanks and a squad of Accursed Cultists. Then, as a soft goal, I will carry on with a larger project I started in March. I may have bit more than I can chew, but I'll chip away at it continuously until the grand reveal.
Word Bearers vs Imperial Fists, 28.03.2023
Arks of Omen, Tear down their icons! The Imperial Fists are back as Imperial Fists, and the Word Bearers are back to bear the good word. Here's top of turn 1, with the Chaos marines once again seezing the initiative and taking board control.
