I liked the humvee, but it wasn't quite Taurox-like enough. So I experimented with having another model 3d-printed. However, the printer kept misfiring, and I actually received 4 damaged hulls instead of 1 whole one. I decided to take it as a challenge.
Documenting the winding journey from beginning wargaming and PnP RPG-s, through low budget solutions, to a growing collection of painted miniatures and a veritable chronicle of games and campaigns.

Free Folk vs Lannisters, 15.07.2025
Rejuvenated after the Nationals and the break after, here I am back at it with another iteration of the giants list, this time with an added Varamyr and friends. Across the field are some old friends, and some new faces - Joffrey and the Kingsguard, and Pyromancers.

Masks of Nyarlathotep: Enter the sunken city
While our characters rolled through the endless plains of the Australian outback, we had an era-appropriate dinner, consisting of ship biscuits, beef jerky and canned beans.
Masks of Nyarlathotep: The Bat-cult of Australia, part 2
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Archie's character sheet was missing, so the fourth player instead assumed the role of professor Dodge. Just as well, so that Archie could lie down and rest, while Dodge and Sanchez rifled through the warehouse. They found a box with the same winged symbol, containing a telescope like device and a letter addressed to Edward Ganigan, in which Robert Houston describes the object as use for short range exploration by the Yithians. Yeah we have no idea what that means, but Robert Houston was the member of the Carlyle expedition supposedly seen alive, and Ganigan is a lead we have in London.

Masks of Nyarlathotep: The Bat-cult of Australia, part 1
We started the session with a lot of administrativia, including skill progression, learning while aboard the cruise ship, and taking a look at the tome in our possession. The only one to comprehend some of it was Archie, who completed its study and learned to create voodoo zombies. Great.
Next stop: Sydney.
Masks of Nyarlathotep: Exit New York
Well, we were in the middle of it. I quickly looked around but found no ceremonial weapons to beat the zombies with. So I started blasting. Fortunately, we had our weapons prepared. Even my gimpy backup pistol did work, and we only took 1 punch to Archie's chest before downing the living dead.

Painting Inquisition henchmen for Warhammer 40k
I originally just wanted 2 of these 3d printed, 1 of each... I got 4 by mistake. Oh well, happy accidents.

July review and August goals
We just had the Warhammer Apocalypse event this weekend, I am exhausted and also overjoyed. Read all about it here. This now seems like the sum of all July, but I also continued with the Dungeon of the Mad Mage and Call of Cthulhu. I still enjoy the 1920, we are in a new chapter now, and we're probably skirting very close to death and/or insanity. Both RPGs took a break due to summer holidays, but we should resume both during August.
Painting continued during July, with me grinding towards the end of the Astra Militarum project. Initially aimed for Q1, then Q2, now, to be honest, if I finish this year, I'll be happy. I am done with the bigger stuff, including the Valkyrie. Now there's just a load more of infantry to round out the army.
There's also a last batch of 1920s investigator to paint, Free Folk to finish (including movement trays with extra effort), and some random D&D minis to paint. With more holidays coming up, I cannot finish all this during August, but I will have a go at it.
