D&D 5E one shot collection - Danger at Blire Manor, part 3

The adventurers regrouped, now with full numbers. They scouted around the manor and did surveillance for the day, deciding to go in at night.

Bernie went in alone to scout out the place. A lucky Perception roll revealed the guard's route, and so he sneaked around the manor, room-to-room.

Until he discovered where two other bandits slept - and all the stolen gear in the corner!

Bernie retreated to confer with his teammates. The entire party sneaked in through the overgrown yard and went in through a window. With everybody helping each other out, all went smoothly.

Then Bernie went in again, to smuggle some weapons out. First, he took the half orc's spear, but stumbled on the way out and stabbed the other sleeping bandit. He shouted, Bernie jumped out the window, and the game was on.

A stunned guard in the corridor watched with disbelief as everyone rushed across in front of him, into the sleeping quarters. The guard rushed after them.

A furious melee developed. The awakened bandits, still disoriented, were easy pickings in the first few rounds. Groot became a lot more deadly going into a frenzied rage and recovering his greataxe. Dace recovered his greatsword as well, but just could not land a blow. The half orc, confused, launched himself bare handed at Groot, only later coming to his senses and going for a weapon.

Wizzik threw his bag of snakes on the guard, who had just previously lost his weapon to a fumble. The man screamed and tried to run, instantly dying to a flurry of attacks of opportunity. Go Dace!

Combat continued, with Dace, Ulfgar and Groot ganging on the half orc. Bernie shot and hid each turn, having climbed up into the window. Wizzik launched spells. Soon, the half orc fell, and the remaining bandit surrendered. Dace vented his frustration on the man, cutting off his left arm. Ulfgar tried to push him away, instead gently fondling the minotaur. The adventurers were just about to round on each other, when hurrying footsteps were heard from the corridor.

To be continued...
