Dungeon of the Mad Mage: Hungry, hungry minotaurs

After some debate, the adventurers decided to skip enslaving the troglodytes (and the associated rewards), instead returning and liberating the children they bought from the dark elves. In the meantime, they also tanned (as well as they could) the skinned rune-engraved hide fragments of the behir. Then, it was on to the next level!

The stinking troglodyte warrens were quickly replaced by a creepy, fog-filled maze. Antrius deployed his mage hand to wave a cloak in front of them, at least dispersing the fog beneath their feet. Guided by a floating light, the adventurers bypassed an area of red fog in between three stalagmites painted with bloody icons[1] and soon stepped into the territory of hungry minotaurs.

Only Brienne tried parlaying with the minotaurs, with everybody else charging and casting spells. The minotaurs responded in kind, charging and goring the adventurers. Except those disabled by Antrius, who fell on their face.

Soon, more monsters joined the fight from a neighboring room.

Solid went down, having heroically stood his ground against several minotaurs. Tari kept up a steady barrage of arrows from the tunnel. Groin disappeared for a while, leaving Brienne to tank the rest of them. Antrius moved around, healed, disabled and shot, as needed.

With Groin back in the fight, the minotaurs soon went down, leaving the adventurers bruised and sore, but standing.

To fill out the remaining game time, I had  the adventurers explore some empty rooms, finding a portal to another level, and hearing some creepy sounds to no particular effect.

[1] Once again, Stella tested their effect.
