Menace in the Zarek Valley - Meeting Szivem

The first session where we have notes! Yay!
... that don't help at all. Yay.
At least we have this excellent picture of the dwarf cleric and tiefling warlock, equipped and ready for battle:

Back to the story, the party did rest and recover in the warlock's manor house. Zyn did his best to accommodate them. No dark elf noble would ever get his hands dirty, of course; that is why we have Unseen Servant.

On further investigation, the manor held some loot (a couple of potions), as well as the remains of the warlock's nefarious experiments. In the attic, the party found an unconscious, but living, teenage girl. They welcomed the newest adventuring member: Szivem, the draconic sorceress.

I don't remember how and why (and the notes do not say), but I do know that a lot of time was lost going back and forth between the fountain and the manor. It was quite funny, too; at least, from a DM's perspective.

After they managed to get back on track, the adventurers advanced towards the next village in line: the mining settlement of Duvik's Pass. They found the town barely alive, with the townspeople fallen ill to a mysterious plague. Sharper party members investigated the town well, and found the water to have a sickly sweet smell. The adventurers agreed to investigate further, and the town council agreed to help the war effort in return.

The only lead was the mine, from where nobody returned lately. The party descended into its depths. At first, there were some clues of murdered miners. However, going deeper, the party faced the mine's new, self-appointed inhabitants: kobolds.

The adventurers filtered into a huge hall with stalagmites (and/or stalagtites). The kobolds were perched in a cave up in the opposing wall.

Someone tried to negotiate (and it was going pretty well), but Szivem decided that she was bored and the session needed to be spiced up. One Firebolt later, the kobolds started raining down arrows and spears.

Winged kobolds took flight to drop stones and harass the adventurers, who ducked down behind rocks.

The adventurers prevailed, of course.
