Painting industrial bases

Introduction

After the proof-of-concept bases were complete, I decided to take the silvery route - with a few enhancements.

Metallics

Based on traditional silver.
Basecoat Gunmetal. Basecoat some elements (such as this hatch) in Tinny Tin, just to break up the silver.

Wash Black. While still wet, mix in Fuegan Orange into some recesses, for that subtle rusty effect.

Drybrush Gunmetal, then Chainmail Silver.

Hazard stripes

Heavy Goldbrown basecoat.

Highlight Sun Yellow.

I did not like the warm shade of Cassandora Yellow from the POC. Instead, I did a second strip of highlight with Fluorescent Yellow.

Draw the black areas using Black Wash at first. This is much easier to correct then regular black paint.

Fill in with Black.

Mix Black and Stonewall Grey about 3:2 and edge highlight.

Apply Gunmetal by sponge.

Spot highlight the sponge marks and edge highlight the metallic areas with Chainmail Silver.

Toxic sludge

Sick Green basecoat.

Dark Green lowlights.

Escorpena Green highlights.

Athonian Camoshade.

Nurgle's Rot.

Glowing pasma vents

There are only two bases with this detail.

Basecoat the interior of the vents with Heavy Blue.

Highlight the interior and drybrush the exterior with Magic Blue.

Same with Electric Blue.

Dot the middle of the vent with 1:1 mix of Electric Blue and White.
