Dungeon of the Mad Mage: Goblin children... everywhere

We started off by spending 19 hours in goblintown until the scouts returned and Azok finally accepted that we are doing good work in the dungeon. He gave us leave to roam freely around his encampment.

The plot thickened when we noticed that Azok seems to be at least half blind, with a trusted advisor helping him out; and that he carries a ring with the symbol of house Rosznar.

After the audience, we were approached by the chieftain's advisor, Lurkana, who told us that Azok used to have a Dagger of Blindsight, which was stolen from him, and that we'd get 1000 gold if we recovered it. Nice.

At this point Zyn's coughing got ever worse, and I managed to convince the party to go back to Waterdeep so I could get professional healing. On the way out, we met a crying goblin girl. Ireth approached her with some goodberries, and the girl told us about her doll being stolen and traded for a shovel. We somehow decided to recover the doll[1] and she lead us to the goblintown general store, labeled KREK meaning trade.

We went in and I noticed the doll in a crate, as the girls were distracted by another goblin bringing a goblin baby in a basket. Our insight checks failed us, and we did not understand what was going on.

The store was a finicky one, with no money excepted, only trades. Selene convinced the shopkeeper[2] to give us the doll, in return for a longsword and a dagger, which I provided.

For some reason, we continued to the goblintown orphanage, where two "teachers" were "teaching" the children valuable skills.[3] Selene went on to call the trainers "ladies", asking if they were in the business of selling children. We were kindly informed that the children are the property of the tribe, they are to be raised as scouts and soldiers, and that the difference between male and female goblins is pretty large, as Selene was offered to see in the back room. We gave them food, and we had fun with the dialogue.[4]

Selene then decided to become a selfless heroine by rescuing the goblin girl. We took her to the goblin bazaar on level 2, where nobody wanted to take a useless child in. Selene rolled a crit on Persuasion, and so the goblin girl came with us to the surface world, where Selene disguised her into a particularly ugly elf child. The Zhentarim boss also failed to take her in, and neither did Esvele Rosznar - see below.

We visited Volo to let him know about the alabaster throne. No reward, as he needs to send for the elves and whatnot.

We visited Esvele Rosznar to let her know about her brother's demise. She tasked us with retrieving the ring. Dammit.

At least my visit to the temple of Pelor went well, and I got cured for a mere 40 gold pieces.

[1] A fitting quest for such powerful adventurers.
[2] A long and laborious process, involving many facepalms, a tall tale about Groin of all people, and several failed checks.
[3] Notice the quotations?
[4] At least I had fun. I'm pretty sure the DM had fun too.
