My first game of Warhammer 40,000 since the happening, CARNAGE! a.k.a. Triumph and Treachery 40k edition. I proposed a chaos versus xenos alliance, and everybody just rolled with it.
I went first which I definitely did not want, so I hid and hoped my ally wouldn't betray me. The Tyranids went forth to assault the Thousand Sons but got a bloody nose.
The Wraithknight shot my Rhino, and left it at 1 wound.
Round 2, went first again. Sigh. Healed up the Rhino and let loose the Cultists.
Gants move out to destroy my cultists.
And big monsters advance on the Defiler.
Overwatch on 4+ really came in, and the Tyranid player found his forces less than halved.
Wraithblades destroy the remaining cultists, and the eldar score 1 point.
Round 3! Seeing red, the Tyranids go all-in.
I went second... still not what I want with my melee list! Landed raptors to snipe a warlock.
And also put 20 OC on the objective with rubric marines. The wraithknight made sure they die, and eldar score another point.
Round 4, Tyranids begin. All the gants and gaunts assault the Wraithknight to get the most OC on the objective and hope to survive. I went second again... this game is a lost cause.
At this point the eldar win if nobody scores 2 points. Might as well give it a try. I shot down the wraithknight and charged the terminators, but the chosen couldn't get through.
The eldar hold the thousand sons back, who can only target me and score 1 point.
I was way too excited (and also in pain) to take pictures of the last round. Basically we tried to give the Thousand Sons player another point, but in the end, the Tyranids took it.
Score:
Eldar - 2
Tyranids - 1 (won the roll-off for second place)
Thousand Sons - 1
Chaos Marines - 0
Triumph and Treachery at its finest!
