The second game against my old opponent: Dark Wings, Dark Words. I love objective card based games; EndRush, not so much. I made sure to manipulate the cards as much as possible.
Just 3 objectives, so I didn't feel conflicted about bringing the giants. I marched up the first turn, wary of the Greyjoy killing power. Auto wounds, precision, all the good stuff.
During the first round, NCUs mostly just cycled through the missions. I was already in the lead due to the cards where enemy NCUs claim zones.
I had placed Varamyr such that he would be safe from outflankers, but Theon came in the other side.
I sneaked the Spear Thrower out of his front arc, managing to place him on the side objective. Savage Giant marched on the center objective, holding up one unit, while Mag blocked the other. Varamyr claimed the far objective. Wun Wun blocks Theon's unit.
Again more points due to cards.
The Savage Giant did die, but the placement forbade the Greyjoys from taking the objective. Wun Wun took it instead.
3 objectives held in the second and third turns, plus the cards, meant 11-2 crushing victory. The Greyjoys had 1 point for killing the Giant and one I decided to give them in return for claiming a zone.
