We spent about 1 - 1.5 hours to guide everyone through their tier advancement. Just as they were left with their shiny new upgraded characters, I told them to forget all about that, and pick other characters.
They had their pick from the pre-generated characters for Blessings Unheralded, the only constraint being that Kromonov Vauss, the inquisitorial acolyte, to make his appearance. Accompanied by Sister Henna Orten, Battle-brother Trojon Kull and Commissar Victoria Linn, he was summoned to an audience with Rogue Trader Jakel Varonius and Inquisitor Harq Obispal. They announced the existence of a rogue interrogator in the system, excommunicated for heresy. Worse, another - the original - warband was seen in her employ. They are to follow their trail, and investigate their assumed wrong doings, preparing evidence for the oncoming trial. A very diligent Obasi Varonius handed them the case dossier, while also mentioning how the accused agents left a refugee camp without water on Enoch, causing a riot and a massacre.
The agents travelled to Barastyr, on the cemetery moon of Daedalus, and began their investigation. The local Imperial agents were all instructed to give their full cooperation.
Sister Superior Viridyan was quite helpful and maintained a positive attitude towards the accused. She told about camaraderie and warrior fellowship during the purge, and that any transgressions against Imperial law were annulled by proper punishment.
In the Librarium Mortem, Archivist Abeabah maintained a friendly, if panicked behavior. She supplied the investigators with all the data initially offered to the accused, regarding the Gelfradus family. She told the story of the servo skulls stolen and returned, but her positivity was marred by the seeking of monetary gains.
The magos in charge of the servo skull manufactorum proved helpful, if not very useful, and provided all the details of her exchange with Tass.
Pater Egbert, high priest of the Priory of the Sacred Form, was overly zealous in his offering of help. He gave all the details - scarce as they were - of the disturbance caused by the accused on his grounds.
The final interviewee was Sergeant Artemis of the local garrison. The agents found her while administering discipline to her squad, and Commissar Linn gave her some pointers on how to improve. The sergeant was a bit nonplussed after meeting Kromonov again[1], but gave her best. She reported finding the scenes of battle where the accused battled the local gangers and mutant scum, as well as being ordered to guard a ruined crypt with a stash of obscura[2] hidden inside. Her outrage and negative review was somewhat tempered by the logic applied by the agents, postulating that the accused might not have known about the stash. Overly zealous herself[3], she also reported investigating the accused in her time off, mentioning the merchant Kaliyah and the drinking den called the Jolly Undertaker as further leads.
The agents decided to ignore those leads, and head out towards the Gelfradus family crypt.
