Painting golems (slapchop method)

Part of a Frostgrave lot I bought off eBay some time ago. More experiments!

Slapchop method

Apply Stirland Battlemire before priming.

Contrast paints

I painted one wood golem with just Snakebite Leather, and it's not actually bad. I tried some variety with diluted Wyldwood on the larger one. Basilicanum Grey on the metal joints does a passable impression of dark silver.

Experiments on the flesh golem. Darkoath Flesh is perfect for dark decaying skin. Aggaros Dunes (right arm) turned out surprisingly greenish. Plaguebearer Flesh (left arm, face) looks excellent for future slapchop zombies. Apothecary White looks surprisingly good on the fur trim. Aethermatic Blue on the gem.

I wanted the stone golem to be... not black. So the stone is diluted Gryph Charger Grey, interspersed with Skeleton Horde.

Finally, the scarecrow shows that Flesh Tearers Red/Ultramarines Blue looks a bit too dark.

Regular paints

I picked out the joints and bolts with silver, and all the stitches on the scarecrow and flesh golem with Wraithbone.

Finished!
