Painting a samurai

Introduction

I bought this samurai as a gift for a friend. I think I might just do more like this ☺

Painting

Prime white. Cold white robes.

Light skintone.

Medium brown scabbard. Light brown hilt. Dark brown pommel.

You will also notice the black trim of the robe. This was the test mini for a simplified black paint scheme. Given the small surface, I only did a small progression of Black, Cold Grey edge highlight, Stonewall Grey superhighlight.

Basecoat the sash in Gory Red.

Wash Agrax Earthshade. Highlight Reaper Fresh Blood, then Bloody Red.

Silver sword.

Basing

Woodland base.

Finished!
