Painting: The Claw!

Introduction

What is this disturbing piece of art? Literally no idea. Meet: The Claw! The final installment of my January commission painting.

Painting

Prime white. Basecoat Elf Skintone.

Trace the arteries with Ultramarine Blue and Reaper Fresh Blood. The red is a muted tone, which I deemed best for this shade.

Basecoat the rest of the details: Heavy Goldbrown pustules, Dead White eyeballs, Bonewhite beak.

Start the bone effect with Seraphim Sepia.

Wash Carroburg Crimson all over the flesh, eyes, veins etc. Also wash the base of the beak.

Highlight with the original colors. Take the flesh up to Pale Flesh, and highlight the pustules with Sun Yellow, then Fluorescent Yellow. Finish the bone effect.

Finish the eyes. Basically the same as the painting tip, but with Carroburg Crimson instead of Black Wash. Paint some with round pupils and some with slits.

Finished!
