Magnetized pintle mount

This is technically the pintle mount from a Chimera, but I am using it on a Leman Russ, as the battle tank kit does not come with its own. I will have a magnetized crew member firing the weapon for the Chimera; but the Russ might need a tank commander AND a pintle mount, so that will not fly here. Using this tutorial though slightly modified.

First of all, the tutorial linked mixed up the sides to drill out on the pintle mount itself. Make sure to have it look like this picture! Snip off the connector, mark the spot with a knife, then drill a 1mm hole. Enlarge it with a 2mm drill bit. This did not quite work for me, so I had to lay in with the knife as well, until the hole accommodated a 2mm magnet.

Enlarge the mounting hole on the storm bolter until a 2mm magnet fits. Remember to double-check the polarity.

Cut out the other side of the storm bolter so you can slide in the remaining connector on the pintle mount. Try this out; my initial cut was way too small.

Enlarge the mounting hole on the heavy stubber until a 2mm magnet fits. Remember to double-check the polarity.

Assemble the storm bolter and heavy stubber components. Test fit the pintle mount.

There is no real slot for this on the turret. I contemplated placing it on the left, but that part is already busy with the searchlight. I can't place it at the front, as that would obscure the commander waving her sword around! So right side it is. Cut into the raised bit, so the pintle mount fits snugly.

Glue it on.
