Painting a blue dragon wyrmling red

Introduction

During the summer, we took a random stop in the game store to show my daughter where she'd go play when she grows a bit. I introduced her to plastic crack by letting her choose the main color on this baby dragon I bought. So the miniature is officially called "blue dragon wyrmling" by WizKids. Well, it's going to be red.

Original state

Pre-primed white.

Contrast basecoats

Blood Angels Red on the scales, Flesh Tearers Red for some patterns.

Skeleton Horde teeth and claws, 2x Darkoath Flesh for the wings, Hexwraith Flame eyes, Basilicanum Grey beard, Wyldwood base.

Highlights

Highlight the skin Hot Orange, use Wraithbone on the horns/claws, and Heavy Skintone for the wings.

Treasure hoard

Paint the gold

Finishing touches

Apply Stirland Mud on the flat surfaces of the bases. Leave it to try, then spray varnish.

Finished!
