The adventurers advanced into frog people territory, entering a large village full of frog people of all sort, but all of them destitute-looking. Asking about their leader, they pointed us towards the end of the village, where some platforms were raised on stilts. There we met a huge frog, Jabba-the-Hut style, holding a guy on a leash who was sadly playing his lute. This would be our new team mate, we knew.[1] Let's get down to business.
Ever gracious, Szivem greeted the huge frog-man, which responded telepathically.[2] We found out that it rules the village, and all work for his well-being. So far, so good - your typical despot. He offered us a reward for getting rid of the snake people, which we already did, so we asked for "the worm playing music". It handed over the chain, but then changed its mind and attacked.[3] A hydra surfaced from the muck, and there we were fighting for our lives.
I tried my command rod but both passed their saves; so I polymorphed the hydra into a goldfish. In the meantime the giant frogman bit and slapped Szivem to unconsciousness, but Solid and Tari ground it down.
Flynt retreated, retrieving his stuff from the frogman's nest. The giant frogman turned out to be a death slaad.
As we were gathering ourselves, the entire village mobilised to see what's up. Seeing the giant throng of frog people, I stepped forth and announced that we have freed them of the tyranny of the slaad and they are now free. As they mulled this over, I applied some bandages to myself while Solid stepped up to me all threatening looking. Finally, a couple of frog people stepped forth asking about food. I told them to go eat the dead snake people. At which they happily dispersed. Nice.[4]
We took our time to loot the giant frogman's nest, containing a useless Headband of Intellect. We discovered an underground passage inside the nest, so... let us descend to the 8th level of the dungeon! Next time.
