Painting the last batch of pulp heroines for Call of Cthulhu

Or at least, this should be the final batch. With 32 girls completed, it was a very fun project.

Painting the wooden floor

This 3d printed is a common element across the miniatures.

Paint Wyldwood (somewhat diluted in the picture) over the white primer.

Use varied shades on the planks: Agrax Earthshade, Reikland Fleshshade, Nuln Oil, Athonian Camoshade, Seraphim Sepia.

Drybrush Khaki to bring out the wood grain.

Common elements

Apply the following:

• medium skintone
• Painting eyes
• Female face
• Black (shoes, hair)
• white (boas, pearls)
• gold (jewelry)
• metallic (weapons, tools)
• Blond hair
• Light reddish brown hair

I tried yet another shade of burgundy cloth. Basecoat Sigvald Burgundy.

Coat Carroburg Crimson.

Highlight Pink Horror.

Painting the cultist

A probably insane cultist is perfect for an eye catching yellow/purple combination.

Basecoat Leviathan Purple/Bad Moon Yellow.

Wash the yellow in diluted Nazdreg Yellow.

Highlight the purple Heavy Violet.

Superhighlight 2:1 Stonewall Grey + Heavy Violet.

Highlight the yellow Sun Yellow. It wasn't really visible, so I did it again Moon Yellow.

Painting the secretary

A bright red - purply black combination. 

Basecoat Blood Angels Red/Black Legion.

Wash the black Druchii Violet. The result is very subtle.

Highlight Hexed Lichen.

Then 2:1 Stonewall Grey + Heavy Violet.

Highlight the red Bloody Red, then Orange Fire.

The contrast was a bit stark, so I washed 3:1 diluted Blood Angels Red.

Reestablish the Orange Fire highlights.

A dark red dress to catch the eye. 

Basecoat Flesh Tearers Red.

Coat diluted Cygor Brown.

Highlight Heavy Red.

Trying out another greenish color scheme.

Basecoat Aeldari Emerald.

Wash Biel Tan Green.

Highlight 1:1 Dead Flesh + Bonewhite.

The first mini in a burgundy color scheme.

Basecoat Sigvald Burgundy.

Wash Druchii Violet.

Highlight Gory Red.

Highlight Warlord Purple + Bonewhite. I don't think this works.

The second mini in pale purple.

Basecoat Luxion Purple.

Wash Druchii Violet.

Layer Heavy Violet.

Highlight 2:1 Stonewall Grey + Heavy Violet, then 2:1 Off White + Stonewall Grey.

Paint the rest of her.

The third mini in silky black. 

Basecoat Earth. Coat diluted Black Templar.

Highlight Earth.

Highlight Filthy Brown.

Paint the rest of her. Of all the color schemes, this was the most interesting.
