Deployment

A wall of Plaguebearers vs a gathering of Rhinos.
I placed my objective far back and camped a squad of Cultists on it, with everything else ahead and ready to jump on the enemy.
The Emperor's Children placed their objective midway, ensuring the Noise Marines have range to shoot me while still holding the objective.
I managed to Seize the Initiative!

Chaos, turn 1

Forwards! With the Plaguebearers bathed in a Miasma of Pestilence, I scraped a couple of wounds off the shiny Rhino with Smites.

The Plaguebearers then charged the Rhino, with the sole purpose of moving up the field, taking ground.

Emperor's Children, turn 1

The Emperor's Children retaliated with brutal efficiency. The Rhinos dispersed, opening up firing lanes and evicting their murderous cargo of Possessed.

Sonic Blasters laid into the Plaguebearers, followed by the brutal assault of Possessed. The Daemons of Nurgle did their job, and held the line.

Chaos, turn 2

Move in for a counter-assault.

Unleash a psychic barrage, then charge!

The Terminators also landed in the backfield, but true to their nature, did nothing - even with the new Bolter Discipline.

The Nurglings charged the wounded Rhino to move up the field, and attract attention. They are Troops, after all.
The Great Unclean One and the Daemon Prince charged the Possessed and Greater Possessed, eliminating many and spawning new Plaguebearers. The Greater Possessed scored me First Blood!
The Poxbringer and Sorcerer charged the other Greater Possessed, but failed to kill it. In fact, I almost gave up First Blood - luckily a CP reroll saved the Sorcerer.
The Cultists also charged into, forming a wall to stop the Possessed on the other side.

Emperor's Children, turn 2

The Emperor's Children decided to block my advancing daemons, and concentrate on the Word Bearers. The surviving Possessed closed in on the Cultists, and the Noise Marines took aim at the Terminators.

The Terminators and the Sorcerer died, but the Chaos Lord made all his saves.
The Cultists mostly died, luckily the Possessed rolled badly and there were no more commands points on their side. The Exalted Champion was also in that melee, but failed to kill anything.
The Rhino was placed too close to the Great Unclean One, so I did a cheeky Heroic Intervention to take it down. In a stroke of luck, it exploded. Of course, it hurt me as well, but it took out far more on the other side. Noise Marines and Possessed died in the explosion, and Lucius was severely hurt.

Chaos, turn 3

On the left flank, the Great Unclean One cleaned up the remains of two Noise Marine squads and consolidated into Lucius. He got hurt badly for it, but it paid off, pinning the enemy warlord down.
My Chaos Lord moved forward, shooting Daemon Shells from his combi-bolter.
The Daemon Prince flew over to the other flank, and helped clean up the Possessed and Exalted Champion.

Emperor's Children, turn 3

The surviving Noise Marines tried to take out my Terminator Lord, but failed. The Possessed struck at the Daemon Prince, but also did not manage to kill it. Lucius did finish of the Great Unclean One.

Chaos, turn 4

The turn was short and brutal, and it ensured my supremacy. The Chaos Lord charged Lucius, and took him out with the Murder Sword. The Daemon Prince charged and killed the Chaos Lord, then consolidated into the Noise Marines, shutting down their shooting.

We took stock of the state of the table, and came up with this: the left flank was mine, with the Nurglings closing in on the objective. Tabling me was out of the question, with the Chaos Lord, Daemon Prince, Poxbringer and Plaguebearers still at large and healthy. The red Rhino could, with great luck, disengage, mow down my backfield Cultists with the combi-bolter and take my objective.

That still left us with me having First Blood, and both of us having the other two secondaries.

My opponent conceded.

Aftermath

It was a fun, casual game. I brought Terminators! With both lists built with this in mind, the game came out to be very close right up to the end, with ups and downs on both sides.

On the Emperor's Children: their Legion Trait is fun and useful. It really forces the opponent to pick his fights. Noise Marines are good, especially with the Doom Siren and Music of the Apocalypse. The Blastmasters failed to impress me. Exalted Champions can do work. I don't see the point of Greater Possessed in this context as of yet.

Nurgle Daemons did what Nurgle Daemons do, nothing new.

On the Word Bearers: they still suck, but they're my favorite Legion due to the lore, so I'm not giving up on them. The Terminators did absolutely nothing other than shield the Chaos Lord, who then proceeded to duel Lucius to the death! Although to be fair, I was lucky that I nominated him instead of the other Chaos Lord. Without the Murder Sword, I think I would have been dead on the spot.
