Painting Restless Zombies

Introduction

These giants zombies from the Magic the Gathering: Arena of the Planeswalkers board game have already seen action in D&D. I selected a Putrid Blight King skintone from a Warhammer TV video. They honestly look more like flesh golems than zombies; but I suppose that can work as well in the proper circumstances.

Painting

Prime white.

Basecoat Elf Skintone (about 3 coats).

Coat with Reikland Fleshshade, diluted 1:1 with Lahmian Medium.

Layer Bonewhite.

Highlight Pallid Wych Flesh.

Break out the Contrast paints for some basecoats: Basilicanum Grey hair and eyes, Volupus Pink inside the mouth, Black Templar loincloth. Coat in and around the wounds with Carroburg Crimson.

Complete the final details: black loincloth, silver girdles/collars/handcuffs, skulls on the waist. While doing the black, use Cold Grey to drybrush the hair.

Basing

Woodland base.

Finished!
