Painting a mummy and a mummy queen (?)

Introduction

Perhaps in a decade or so, my necromancer will level up enough to create undead such as these.

Painting the mummy

Prime Wraithbone. Overall coat Skeleton Horde.

Overall drybrush Bonewhite, then select drybrush Off White - on the knees, feet, fists, head, shoulders.

Paint the exposed flesh Basilicanum Grey.

Highlight Stonewall Grey. Paint the eyes and teeth Dead White.

Some low-grade OSL for the eyes using Aethermatic Blue.

Painting the mummy queen

Prime Wraithbone. Paint the bandages as above.

I originally intended a Mediterranean looking olive skintone, but it came out too dark. I'm happy with the result anyway. Start with Dark Fleshtone.

Glaze highlights with Dark Fleshtone mixed with Hot Orange.

Highlight with Dark Fleshtone mixed with Heavy Skintone.

Here, my phone started acting up, so no pictures.

Minimal highlight Heavy Skintone. Recess shade Reikland Fleshshade. While still wet, apply Druchii Violet into the eyelids, mouth, along the nose, and any other areas that need to be extra dark.

Superhighlight Pale Flesh.

Paint the eyes Dead White, then use Aethermatic Blue for some low grade OSL.

Black hair.

I tried a new recipe for wood: Bonewhite, 2 coats of Skeleton Horde, Bonewhite highlights. Looks like dry lacquered wood, not bad.

Warm white cloth, palest variant.

Then unto the gold. I wanted something deep and rich, so I tried out the following: basecoat Polished Gold.

Darken down with Guilliman Flesh, then recess shade Gore Grunta Fur. Highlight Silver.

Take a shortcut with the gemstone using Soulstone Blue.

Base

Marble. Then glue them on their plastic bases.

Cover the horizontal surface in sand - I let it creep up on the marble.

Finished!
