Painting the base for Be'lakor

Start with a scaled-up version of this lava base.

First, drybrush the rocks.

Then paint the lava. I took care to paint some lighter areas where the lava flows touch the flat area.

Another Contrast-based NMM gold experiment. As this is a larger area, I decided on a more subtle gradation.

Start with an overall layer of diluted Nazdreg Yellow, then start the lowlighting with a second layer.

Diluted Aggaros Dunes is next.

Diluted Snakebite Leather.

Undiluted Snakebite Leather for the darkest areas.

Highlight Wraithbone.

Bones. After finished, blackline around them using Black Templar.

NMM silver chains, as for Eisenhorn. I decided on this violet hue as the rocks are bluish black and the miniature itself will be in grey tones.
