Adding a LED searchlight to an Astra Militarum Leman Russ

Introduction

After a month and a half sitting in subassemblies... both of my tanks are now complete. Doing the second one was a lot faster; I took inspiration from the Chimera.

Placing the switch and battery

I realized that the switch "clicks" into place and doesn't actually need any glue. So I didn't put any, duh. I did however cut a hole in the bottom for the battery, as the Leman Russ doesn't have any doors to be magnetized.

Mounting the searchlight

Literally everything the same as for the Chimera: drill through the plastic bit, place the LED, solder on the wires, cover everything in duct tape.

Glue on the turret, after copious amounts of dry fitting.

More soldering

Assemble the circuit, solder on the wires, cover everything in duct tape. Test after each step that the circuit still works.

Assemble the tank

Nothing else to do... but be paranoid and test the switch periodically to see if the LED still lights up.

Finished!

This is how the tank looks like with the LED turned on and all magnetized components in place.
