The third game against an unknown opponent and list, with some beautiful models. All movement trays converted with models glued in, and dice used as wound counters. Consult the score here but for some reason the guy changed his mind at the last moment and brought Starks (or, well, Umbers) instead of Baratheons. I pulled out my zoo, ready to hold the table quarters.
The Stark/Umber units did not present much in the way of defense, but they slaughtered my own stuff brutally. Losing the animals on the attack to Lash Out and morale shenanigans hurt especially. And then I had nothing else to follow up.
All of Varamy's animals died, but at the end of turn 2 I was leading 3-1 and set up to start turn 3 with some effective charges.
I tied down both units here, leaving the bear to possibly die next round due to the distance.
However, this sacrificed Varamyr to the outflanking cavalry.
The Starks were now able to score equal points.
Then, a couple of charges later I had no more army, but for the Thenns and the Raiders coming in as reinforcements. This gave a massive boost to the Stark score.
We ended the game during turn 4 (or was it 5?) due to time constraints, with the Starks scoring 3 to my 1 in the final turn - we could no longer hurt each other, just score.
Loss 11-9, minor victory to my opponent.
