After last session's combat, the adventurers sensibly decided to... again try long resting in the same room. Sigh. Not even blocking a door with Stella[1] could hold back the tide of vampires, cultists and bat swarms. The ambush was pretty slick, and a dark mage paralyzed Szivem. She spent most of the time being scratched by bats.
Ireth transformed into an Ankylosaur, and combat was on.
Or maybe not, as Brienne once again turned the undead. Only two vampires remained.
With depleted resources, the party fought on, slowly grinding down the remaining two vampires and their various creatures, now including... a rat swam. Worthy enemies for a level 14 party. Szivem still holding on, bats in her mouth, ears and one biting her eyeball... only due to a sneaky Heal by Ireth.
The adventurers grouped up, and the paladins went to work, smiting the vampires. The monsters decided to retreat, with the dark mage covering them with a spiritual whip.
With the battle over, the adventurers decided to... escape and rest somewhere. Going back through half the dungeon wasn't really an option[2], so they... went down a level. Sure.
They happened upon a large cavern with a ship in it. They climbed into it, searching for the officers' quarters in hope of finding a safe place. The ship crashed unto them. They decided to... stay within the rubble, hoping that nobody sees them.
Soon, voices were heard - someone came to investigate. Mechanical mind flayers? Szivem decided to sing, and the creatures approached. Ireth made her wall of fire.
Three creatures, already caught in the wall, charged forth, first throwing sticky web grenades. They died shortly. The last one disappeared behind the wall. Surely, no consequence will follow.
The party carried on their quest of finding a place to sleep, stepping through a waterfall into the cave of a... frog spirit? Ichthyglug greeted Brienne with a rap song[3], and offered her a quest: retrieve the phylactery of the lich Ezzat on level 20. He promised treasures in return, but denied the adventurers sleeping in his cave.

Next session was all about the party looking for a place to rest. Spoiler alert: not today.
First of all, the party stood in the cavern and argued about where to go. Just enough time for the space orcs to gather up and attack. They caught the adventurers in sticky grenades and charged.
Fortunately, the elves made their saves and the party quickly spread out. Then they spread out... on the ground.
Several moonbeams, divine smites and eldritch blasts later, the orcs died. Just one got away.
The adventurers carried on through a random corridor, picking one the orc did not go through. On the shores of a slime lake, they met a med mephit cursed to roam the halls forever as a go-between for the two warring spirits. Multiple warnings about wandering monsters went unheard, and a giant grey ooze slithered out of the muck. The party ran away.
Unwilling to traverse the caverns towards the second spirit, the adventurers decided to return to the vampire level[4] to rest under a Tiny Hut spell. Cue space orc ambush.
Polymorph to the rescue. Out of spells, Szivem worked better as a giant ape, and pounded several orcs to dust.
Undeterred, the adventurers continued towards the upper level.
[1] Solid's faithful celestial steed.
[2] Or so they thought.
[3] The furthest I'm willing to go to sing.
[4] You can't make this shit up.
