Playing against my man EndRush in this classic Game of Thrones scenario. He piloted the Phantom player at another table as I was exhausted (and high on caffeine). My list was a mix of everything that denies abilities in a Free Folk list - aptly named "no abilities please".
I placed the stakes in the middle, putting the fear of them into the Greyjoys. They moved out slowly, and I made to encircle them, with the Shadowcat behind. Holding two objectives with the Thenns and their Boar made for a quick advancement in points.
Varamyr held find against archer fire, and I successfully maneuvered him out of charge arcs for anything else. However, I rolled two failed charges, with both Varamyr and the Shadowcat stopping short of their intended targets. However, still leading in points during round 3.
During round 4 I went pretty much all in on the Ironborn Reavers, but believe it or not, they just wouldn't die. I turned off the main healing in the game - moneybag - but still so much heal came from cards and other abilities that I just gave up.
Also Varamyr mauled the archers but they healed and fell back.
During round 5 the Iron Victory Crew charged in to kill Varamyr, but I held my points advantage and won.
