WhizKids preprimed miniatures, a good palate cleanser in between all the nuns.
Painting
Apply known painting tips for most things:
- Simplified wasteland base
- Medium skintone
- Dark skin
- Light leather
- Blond hair (simple)
- Speed painting shiny silver
- Shiny gold
- Black (Contrast)
Then, on to some experiments. Like this tribal shield design.
And a less successful experiment with this purple cloth. Basecoat Shyish Purple.
Coat Volupus Pink.
I went for purple highlights, mimicking Genestealer Purple (Heavy Violet + White) and Slaanesh Grey, but I dislike the stark contrast.
For the halfling deity: Sheela Peryroyl, freehand daisy symbol on shield.
Draw the outline white.
Draw the petal using diluted Basilicanum Grey.
Stipple Filthy Brown (because that was on the wet palette) into the middle. Mix in white for a highlight.
After varnish, spend some time on the transparent parts. Paint varnish on them along with varnishing the base rim; then some very thin paints, in my case Citadel glazes: Waywatcher Green and Bloodletter. Finish them off with two coats of gloss varnish.
