Three monsters with Contrast-based paint schemes - despite some difficulties.
Manticore
Inspired by Heroes 3.
Aggaros Dunes body, Flesh Tearers Red scales. Guilliman Flesh basecoat the wings and mane across the spine, Gore Grunta Fur membrane.
Black Legion tail spine and nose. Blood Angels eyes. Skeleton Horde mouth, then Volupus Pink tongue.
Wolf dragon
It's a dragon... with scales and bat wings. I didn't really know what to do with it, so I decided on painting Brown fur across the scales. However, it didn't take to Contrast well. It took 3 layers to fully cover, so I ditched thinning the Skeleton Horde. Just cover already!
Complete the paint scheme. Blood Angels eyes and Black Templar nose.
Paint the wing membrane Guilliman Flesh. Draw the veins with the diluted Gore Grunta Fur.
Simplified wasteland base.
Blue dragon
Inspired by Heroes 3 azure dragon. Same issues as above, needed multiple layers.
Aethermatic Blue large scales, but it was too turqoise-ish, so I coated Tyran Blue. Asurmen Blue wing membrane, Celestium Blue body. I should have gone one lighter - Frostheart wing and Asurmen body. Oh well. Also multiple layers darkened it down. Volupus Pink inside mouth, then red eyes.
