Menace in the Zarek Valley - Rescue operation

Tari and Szivem are the only party members free to roam; everybody else is the prisoner of the goblins.[1]

So the girls' first order of business was to climb a tree, so they could eat and rest in safety. Thus "refueled and rearmed", they went back to infiltrate the tower.

As they already knew what waited for them on the upper floors, they decided to go towards the basement, confronting 2 goblins. They took one down, then decided to flee instead...

Right into the waiting arms of the goblin boss. He was less than happy to see them, of course.

Thinking that they were unable to defeat the boss[2], they fled again downstairs. Eliminating the goblin who was chasing them, they stepped into a torture room, where an orc and a goblin were having at Groin.

The girls cleared the room successfully, then nursed Groin back to life. He had just enough time to put on a random armor lying around, and arm himself with a random sword, before the boss - cautious, this time, after having his tower collapsed - made his entrance.

In an adjacent room, the other prisoners were just regaining consciousness. Right on time, too: the boss was administering quite the beating to the rescuers.

We get closer and closer to a TPK...

Then suddenly, an old man in shining white robes appeared from within deeper the dungeon. Roaring with fury, he asked about the desecration and reconsecration of the fountain, leaving the scared paladin speechless.

Still, the old man read the situation quickly. He blasted away at the goblins, killing them (rather horribly, I might add). He then healed the adventurers, returning them to life/consciousness, and disappeared in a puff of smoke.

The adventurers then searched the tower, but found no additional trace of goblins. Their equipment[3] was located in the goblin boss' throne room.

[1] Yes, even Lili. She was not present at the previous session, but I decided it would be unfair for that to be an advantage. A couple of dice rolls later, she was also a prisoner.
[2] Rather wisely.
[3] Obviously, the goblins looted them before throwing them into their cells. It was fun to see them try to get along without weapons and armor.
