For the first game, I was still calm and collected. Lots of photos. I obviously out-deployed the Baratheons, so here's my refuse flank.
I initially thought to go first, and do a turn 3 brawl, but with the Baratheons deployed forward, I had them start. Abel the bard outdid himself on the Stag knights, clearing off a rank. I lost Thenns but that's what I get for going into crossbow range.
My first ever combo-wombo that felt ridiculously good. Abel the bard deactivated all the Stag Knight abilities, then Mag charged in and killed all 7 of them. The crossbows then sentinel'd around and shot him for two wounds. Who cares.
While I was celebrating my push on the left flank, the Thenns retreated after taking heavy losses to crossbows. The Rose Knights were trudging around with -1 movement thanks to Ygritte. Thorn Watch was playing catch up with my lonely squad of Raiders. The Bear was no match for them due to precision.
On round 3, I was closing the vice. And running away with the Raiders.
The middle was a mess. The Crossbowmen went forwards, then the Wolf Pack charged them in the back, then the Rose Knights counter charged but failed to kill them due to being weakened. Then the Boar, the Thenns, everything went in, and the crossbows died. My opponent wanted to concede.
We still had time to play out round 4, and the Raiders quickly died to the Thorn Watch. The Boar died to the Rose Knights with lots of extra score tokens on him. The Thenns died due to rolling all failed saves and morale. But then Mag came in again with auto-6-charge to kill the Rose knights, and we were literally tied.
I won a minor victory on tie breaker: points on the table.
