Just a quick batrep today, with me facing the Night's Watch for the first time. Spoiler: it did not go well.
Even though the first turn offered a nice outlook. I had 4 units and my zoo on the table against the Night's Watch's 3 (far back horsemen in reserves). I also took first turn, enabling me to take initiative with the reserves.

A lucky ranged attack with the giant spooked the horsemen into wasting the second turn running back, ultimately scoring a point but no other effect. Rangers held back and veterans claimed the middle, giving me initiative to assault them at the end of round 2.
And yes, the cavemen took the ranged attacks from the Night's Watch NCU. 4 points my balls.
So there we were, with me holding initiative, the center engaged, 1 points each, and the heavy cavalry coming in on my back left flank. Obviously, I pressed the attack, sending in a fresh unit of cavemen and their bear. Surely, 4 attacking units, 2 from the flanks, will destroy that pesky veteran squad and assure my victory?
The answer was no.
I was too depressed to take more pictures. But basically hitting on 5+ (Disrupt) taking hits on misses, plus one attack from the veterans killed my center cavemen. I brought in the Endless Horde raiders to hold back the cavalry - failed. They charged the back of my Spearwives, I failed the 6+ morale and they all died. I conceded on the spot.
I don't know what to do, honestly. What does the game want me to do? If I spread out to take points, my units get picked off one by one. Nothing can hold its own 1v1. Now I had the perfect opportunity to focus down one unit, and even that failed miserably.
