Painting more 3d printed giants: Cloud Giant and Fire Giant

Introduction

After the Storm Giant was painted, I decided on giving a quick paintjob to the other two 3d printed giants. Keeping everything simple, I tried to use each color only once across the two to save on paint. I also kept highlights to a maximum of two layers to save on effort.

Painting a 3d printed Storm Giant

Introduction

I managed to paint this guy up just in time for the adventurers to meet King Hekaton of the Storm Giants.

M.A.G.U.S. - Dragon turtle and island adventures

I started off the session by visiting the Dolsaki's again, due to having remembered a spell of mine able to locate a  target person across great distances. All I needed was some personal item. I was rather rudely told off by the butler, and I let my frustration flow through a hissy fit. Yes, I was quite deep in character. Shamil saved the situation by leading the entire party to an audience with the head of the noble house. Or, at least one of the offspring... who did supply us with the required item (golden buttons!), and which did confirm the direction - if not the distance - we were to head out.

Converting Plague Marines

Introduction

I have a squad of old metal Plague Marines. They are exactly 7, with one Plasma Gun. With the current Death Guard rules, that setup sucks. I decided to convert 3 more, to make 2 squads of 5. I shall also have the maximum number of plasma weaponry - 6 Plasma Guns in total.

Green stuff tutorial - Chaos/Nurgle

Introduction

I saw this green stuffing tutorial some time ago, demonstrating how to convert a regular Chaos Terminator to "show" the Mark of Nurgle. I saved the link, and revisited it when working on the Terminator Chaos Lord. By then, the forum I saw this on was drawing its last breath, and the pages were scrambled. I managed to save parts of the page, but I did not think of noting the source.

And so, after using these techniques heavily in my latest conversion works, I decided on posting about it. The author explains a lot of stuff very well, and I didn't feel like repeating it. I'll be adding my own notes here and there. Other than that, anonymous author, whoever you'd be - thank you!

Menace in the Zarek Valley - Tari unleashed

The party camps out with Alla and her goblins, discussing tactics. She even produces a prisoner, which they interrogate. He spills everything on the armored humanoid, a hulking giant with a mutated clawed hand. They cook up a plan to intercept the goblin boss on patrol, without having to fight through the entire tribe. Alla and her goblins start on a different route, cutting off any escape. Having insider info on the patrol route, one of the parties will surely catch the boss.

And so the skill challenge starts.

Menace in the Zarek Valley - Alla strikes back

Heading towards the goblin tribe, Solid studies the demon skull; and then one night he wakes up screaming and sweating. No idea how or why is this relevant.

And then wolves attack at night.

Painting (somewhat low effort) Nurglings

Introduction

After I cracked open a box of Nurglings to convert Scabeiathrax, I thought to assemble and paint the rest of the little guys. However, I wasn't in the mood for a complicated project, so I tried some low-effort solutions for them. Of course, I had to spice them up somehow to avoid boredom...

Uprising on Mane Primus - Mission #5 Game - Assassinate the enemy commander

Mission

Start with 5 CP. All rolls done by the player and can be CP rerolled.
Variable game length.
Have 6 ruins/buildings on the battlefield.
When reaching a ruin, the scouts can either breach or besiege.
Besiege: stay in base contact with ruin. At the beginning of next enemy turn, on 4+, the enemy rushes out. Each squad suffers D3 MW. Otherwise, the enemy rushes out the following turn. Each squad suffers D6 MW.
Breach: the scouts who end the movement phase in base contact with the ruin enter the ruin. If they eliminate all resistance by the end of the following enemy turn, they can exit the building in their movement phase as if debarking from a transport.
The first two ruins searched do not have the commander.
For the third ruin and onwards, roll a D6, adding the number of ruins searched thus far. On 8+, you have found the commander and his elite bodyguard. The commander is automatically found in the 6th ruin, otherwise.
Minor victory: kill the enemy commander.
Major victory: breach all 6 ruins.

Uprising on Mane Primus - Mission #5 Story

Boreas aimed his bolt pistol, and pulled the trigger.

Bang! The external propellant exploded in the barrel of the pistol, launching the bolt towards its target.
Froom! The internal propellant of the bolt ignited once out of the barrel, taking the projectile to supersonic speeds in a matter of milliseconds.
Krak! The bolt shell traveled a scant few meters, and penetrated the thick skull of a charging ork, interrupting a savage war cry.
Boom! The mass reactive projectile exploded after the impact, shattering the greenskin's head from the inside. Its comrades faltered for a moment, showered in gore and shrapnel.

M.A.G.U.S. - Bar fight!

After last session's adventuring, we got caught up in a storm at sea. We all had bad premonitions about it... Luckily, Athosian had developed her mariner's skills, and - pushing the ship's captain aside! - managed to bring us into port.

Painting 3d printed dungeon elements (POC)

Introduction

Remember the stuff I got printed early on? They've been sitting in a box ever since. I re-discovered them by happenstance, and I decided to do a little proof of concept painting. This is supposed to be an experiment for when we start batch painting stuff like this.

Diorama base for the Chaos Sorcerer in Terminator Armor

Introduction

As stated at the end of the Chaos Terminators post, there is one guy who is not yet finished: the Sorcerer. Of course, I could have mounted him on a base just like everyone else and have him be distinguished by holding a staff. But there are instances when he would need a force axe, or sword, and then how to tell him apart? And so, I decided on creating a custom base. Then I found the imp  among my collection of unpainted minis, and I thought to take it one step further.
