Fill out the base using any manner of materials, including putty, cork, or in this case, with Stirland Battlemire and placing some cork fragments into it while still wet (immediately after applying).
Basecoat Dark Fleshtone.
Heavy drybrush Heavy Brown.
Wash Nuln Oil in the recesses and the ground level.
Overall wash Agrax Earthshade.
Highlight Heavy Brown.
Superhighlight Bonewhite.
