Converting and painting Word Bearers Obliterators

Not that I need two more Obliterators... but let's get them off the bucket list.

Conversion

Mutilate two old Dark Angel Terminator bodies. I stripped the paint off them some ago, and now I just ripped the arms off and cut away all the iconography.

I built up two bases affixing the statuary and stuff using milliput. I used the leftover milliput to affix the arms (stumps) on the bodies, and also plasma cannon backpacks.

The day after, I filled out the bases with home-made putty. I glued on Aggressor bits to the power fists using plastic glue.

Once everything dried, I pinned the bodies to the bases. Superglue to strengthen the putty.

Once everything dried and cured (again), I broke out the green stuff. I covered the chest aquilas, plasma cannon hands, large joins etc using fleshy growths. I plastic glued some more bits at the same, again covering up the joins. Including two cut off scout shotgun barrels on chests, and some more Aggressor bits and cables. Also some random bombs, including GreenStuffWorld resin rockets.

Green stuff growths also connect any cables that don't perfectly match.

Painting and basing

The conversion was the fun part, now to just paint them exactly like the previous pair of converted Obliterators, including green plasma, purity seals etc.

Finished!
