Painting a white wizard

Introduction

The planeswalker Jace from Magic the Gathering: Arena of the Planeswalkers board game has 3 illusory clones. I painted one up as a white wizard.

No finished picture as the miniature got accidentally mixed up with the D&D crowd.

Painting shades of white on a Contrast base

I painted flesh and hair on a Grey Seer base as for the D&D miniatures, after bathing the model in Apothecary White. Now, the issue with using a Contrast base and not spending much time on highlights is... how to make the details stand out. I solved it by painting some details with Gryph Charger Grey, and then making the magical effect distinct by coating it Guilliman Blue. Then edge highlight everything with Dead White.

Basing

Woodland base.

Finished!
