Rounding off the giant commission, we got this guy wielding a huge sword. He's a Reaper Fire Giant, so he's got lots in common with the blacksmith. However, I was commissioned to make him more viking-like.
Painting
Prime black using an airbrush, then spray his skin and fur - any lighter area - light grey.
Basecoat all the metals Leadbelcher.
At this point I realized that he has plenty of metallic surfaces, and just doing traditional silver would be boring. So I applied the same logic as for the blacksmith.
On to the non metallic details. I wanted him viking looking, with light skin and blond facial hair.
- Light skintone
- Blond hair
- Brown fur shoulder coat
- Warm white cloth on the inside of the coat
- Painting eyes but advanced, since the eyes are sculpted large. Do the initial dot Frostheart, then small irises Black Templar
Highlight the metals and improve by highlighting the Snakebite Leather using Glorious Gold, then Silver.
Finish off the sword by stipling Aethermatic Blue in and around the runes, then stipling Pylar Glacier just in the runes.
Basing
Add some natural stones and skulls to the base. Fill it out using terrain paste in preparation for Snowy base. Paint/prime white by hand, then paint the snow and the Bone.
