Fixing up large elementals

I got these second hand: the water elemental made by Reaper, the other two from the Dungeons & Dragons: Temple of Elemental Evil Board Game.

Original-ish state

They were well painted, but very dusty. I did a once-over with a toothbrush and I managed to scrape off some of the high points. The bases were off, so I mounted them all on 50mm bases and covered the edges with Vallejo heavy gel / terrain paste.

Water elemental

Paint the gel Akhelian Green. Shade the recesses Terradon Turqoise.

Drybrush Glacier Blue. Also use it to fix any scrapes.

Add ankle deep water using UV resin.

Air elemental

Simplified wasteland base. Fix the scrapes using Ghost Grey/Basilicanum Grey.

Magma elemental

Fix the scrapes using Fluo Yellow. Paint the base Flesh Tearers Red.

Deepen the shadows with a gradient of feathered out Gryph Hound Orange / Blood Angels Red. On the base, go for Lava base.

Coat the base in Mordant Earth, as per the painting tip, but also put some patches on the red parts of the elemental.

Finished!
