In preparation for the Romanian Nationals, here's a training game of Honed and Ready. It's the season of giants! On the other side: Lannister double lance cavalry.
Round 1 passed as usual with only posturing and taking up board control. I had first turn and blocked the swords so the Lannisters couldn't remove my stakes. Both spear throwers targeted a unit of Knights, scoring some wounds. The other Knights rushed forward to confront my Spear Thrower on the left...
...making all my preparations for an assault on the right useless.
Round 2, the Lannisters started by charging Knights into my Spear Thrower. Obey me! for 11 attack dice. And the giant said: sure. 3 wounds.
I put Mance's influence on them so they couldn't heal, then maneuvered around. The Lannisters took up position in the center, and I did not want to risk Mag to take a charge from the Mountain Men/Robert Strong combo. So I pulled him back and then charged into the Knights right at the end of the round. That plus the Spear Thrower already there meant their death. With the right flank open, I took an objective there, ending the round 3-1.
Almost everything I had was wounded due to either the scenario, Lannister supremacy, or the crown board action. Shrug it off!

Round 3 was saucy. I pushed Mag up, and the Knights obliged by charging in - to their deaths. Varamyr died to the NCUs firing at him from the walls, but I just put a giant on the objective. Round ended 5-3.
Round 4. Now outnumbered against giants, what?
The Kingsguard marched to confront the Spear Thrower on the right, but I just had Wun-Wun charge in.
Nothing really happened. I just held two objectives with my Spear Throwers, and the Mountain's Men held the middle. Round ended 7-4.
Finally, round 5. With Mag moving up, the Mountain Men charged into Wun-Wun, but couldn't kill him. I just healed him up, waited for the Kingsguard to attack, and pulled back. No reason to die to Counterstrike. With Mag on the center, the game ended 10-4.
Crushing victory! Are the giants overpowered? Yes. But so is everything else.
