Painting tempestus nuns in the bluish gray of the House of the Virgin Mary

 

Base

The base preparations diverge depending on the model used. 

• Tempestus Aquilons (jump pack models) are painted on a pin, in which case the cobblestone base should be primed Black and painted separately: Painting cobblestone
• Tempestus Scions (regular foot models) are painted on their base, in which case the cobblestone base should be painted first, to account for the drybrushing: Painting cobblestone (Contrast base)

Painting

Prime Grey Seer.

Paint the inside of the headgear, cuffs and chest piece Apothecary White.

Paint the cloth a layer of Gryph Charger Grey. While drying, paint the shoes Black Legion.

Second layer of Gryph Charger Grey on the cloth.

Basecoat the gun and jump pack Leadbelcher.

Gun casing and jump pack: Black Templar.

Nuln Oil Gloss on the rest of the gun. 

Also paint whatever other washes/Contrast paints the model needs, such as this cable painted Gryph Hound Orange.

Highlight the gun and jump pack Chainmail Silver

At this point break out the wet palette.

Highlight the black shoes with a mix of Black and Cold Grey, then Cold Grey, as per Black.

Basecoat the face, hands and legs Heavy Skintone. Use other skintones at your discretion.

Finish the face and hands using Reikland Fleshshade, Heavy Skintone, then final highlights of mix of Heavy Skintone and Pale Flesh, as per medium skintone. 

Coat the legs Basilicanum Grey. The fleshtone shines through for a passable emulation of stockings. Darker skintones do not require this step.

Highlight the white cloth Dead White.

With the white already out, do any Blue plasma coils. Also do a simplified version of this on the jump pack exhaust.

Individual details can come up with these elite troops, so handle them as they come. Such as this pocket watch, Aethermatic Blue over Silver.

Shiny gold aquilas on weapon conversions.

To go along with the blue theme, Soulstone Blue over Silver targeting lenses and Electric Blue drybrush over the powerfist.

Finally, as the cloth was not highlighted, let's add some interest to the models by working on the face. The eyes are way too small for Painting eyes, so a simplified version: paint the eye socket white, then add a dot of Black Legion. Paint the lips Carroburg Crimson as per female face.
