Although it's currently the season of giants... Varamyr still serves.
Basing
The point of having my own models is to do various basing and conversions, so here we go.
Rip the wolfpack off the base. Glue in the base into the tray as a gapfill (because I ripped it apart by accident) and fill in the sides using Vallejo Heavy Gel. Then glue back on the wolves, but keep a bit of distance in between them for ease of painting. Also add lunch.
Rip the shadowcat off the base and fill in the gap with lots of cork. Build up the layers using UHU glue until the cat can be placed on a cliff. Drill out the cliff and glue in the nubs on the cat's feet. Glue on a dead Night's Watch under the cliff.
Same with Varamyr himself. Reposition him a bit to the right side of the tray to make space for a dead Night's Watch guy. Fill out all the gaps and build up the cliffs using Vallejo Heavy Gel.
Fix Varamyr's bear ass using green stuff.
Also fill in the gap in the front.
Finally, ready for painting.
Preparation
Prime white. Paint Ice base. Clean up the animals using white wherever I got too zealous with the blues. Paint Small arctic animals.
Wolfpack
Trying out some new schemes for brown fur.
Finish with Black Templar noses, Agrax Earthshade in mouths, Bloody Red eyes.
Shadowcat
Paint the Shadowcat exactly as before. Paint the corpse as detailed below.
Varamyr
Apply a slightly different brown fur on his cape. Paint his arctic eagle and Polar bear.
Then apply some good old fashioned colors on Varamyr, the bear's tack, as well as the two Night's Watch corpses:
Eagle
As per the Skinchangers' brown eagle.
